The Director of Corporate Communications champions the Bel Values by providing leadership on internal and external communication strategies to change culture, mindsets, and behavior to deliver change across internal and external stakeholder groups to achieve Bel’s strategy and transformation objectives.  This position reports the Vice President of HR for the US with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Chief Marketing Officer.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communication Strategy: Translates corporate communication strategy into plans with specific actions and content on strategic and tactical communications across a variety of channels and formats. Develops Bel US corporate narrative development and evolution.
  • Public Relations: Creates and implements public relations activities that are aligned to the company values and market positioning. Main point-of-contact for all PR and social-media related activities for Bel US. Actively develops and manages media outreach plans and content development for publicity efforts, including press releases, editorial calendar opportunities, news story idea pitches, industry speaking opportunities and media query responses. Leads PR agency and budget management.
  • Employee Communications: Develops effective employee communication strategies to drive employee performance, behavior and engagement in achieving business goals. Creates and implements communication plans and materials required to support corporate initiatives.
  • Social Media: Point-of-contact for all Bel US social media activity, including creating corporate content for social media channels, coordinating responses to followers on corporate pages, and helping the department use social media tools and strategy to strengthen the company’s reputation and relationships.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Manages CSR communication activities including coordinating reporting and organizing and communicating local and Group initiatives. Works collaboratively with CSR Director.
  • Crisis Management: Organizes crisis simulation & training for Bel Leadership. Develops and updates Crisis Manual. Key member of the US crisis management team.
  • Contributing to Bel’s DE&I strategy, identifying opportunities for engaging storytelling and promotion of achievements.
  • Charitable Partnerships:  Works with non-profits, philanthropic funders, business leaders, and key stakeholders to design and implement a focused strategy ensuring philanthropic efforts are aligned with Bel’s corporate mission.
  • Public Affairs: Leads relevant stakeholder engagements as it relates to Public Affairs for Bel Corporate and Bel US.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively managing risks by identifying and preparing for issues response based on corporate, industry or marketplace developments.


Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies

Minimum education and experience required:

  • At least 12 years of experience across the following disciplines: communication strategy, external and internal communications, employee engagement and/or marketing and branding
  • Ability to understand and assess complex issues and help translate them into clear messaging
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project/campaign management and execution skills
  • Experience with multiple traditional and non-traditional channel communications and a strong working knowledge of digital communication channels and processes
  • Professional expertise with social media and advanced knowledge of various social tools
  • Organizational Agility - experience navigating, influencing and delivering results in highly matrixed and global organization
  • Strong relationship builder; works effectively at all levels of the organization with high influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to balance vision and creative thinking with rigor and tactical execution to meet organizations goals
