  • Understanding Wintrust’s business strategy and brand, write, edit, gather assets and information, and present it in formats that are best suited to the audience.
  • Serve as a communications consultant, business partner and channel editor, collaborating and coordinating efforts with peers, HR/D&I colleagues, Marketing, and department/project heads.
  • Clearly articulate and incorporate Wintrust purpose, core values and guiding principles in all communications plans, key messages, and deliverables, including executive messages, press releases, newsletter, app, video and web content, award submissions, marketing/promotional materials, manager talking points, etc.
  • Develop and manage project and campaign schedules, editorial calendars, and content plans for enterprise media, internal marketing, and change projects.
  • Research, write and edit clear, engaging and compelling content.
  • Collaborates with manager, designers, producers and other team members to ensure the appropriate concepts, themes, and messages are represented effectively and consistently for the business objective(s) and audience(s).
  • Cultivate internal network of subject matter experts and collaborative partners, to proactively build business knowledge, appropriately position communications and ensure accurate, timely and balanced reporting. of organizational priorities and accurate reporting of news that is balanced and timely.
  • Build a research pipeline of external news leads and evergreen content.
  • Contribute to the creation of organizational reporting materials, such as the corporate social responsibility report and internet web sites.
  • Provide timely and proactive status reports, to ensure assignments are completed on time and channel schedules are met.
  • Attends meetings facilitated by business area or project initiator to understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of a project.
  • Presents assignments to corporate stakeholders, business managers/leaders and peers as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of professional communications experience in corporate communications, PR/marketing agency or similar setting; banking experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in copywriting, content editing, proofreading in accord with AP style brand guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing project plans and editorial calendars for internal media.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects and content on deadline in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Content Management Systems, e.g., Poppulo, WordPress, Adobe Campaign, etc.    
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office
