Senior Manager of Digital Communications
Description
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the national not-for-profit association established in 1863 & representing over 100,000 veterinarians working in private & corporate practice, government, industry, academia & uniformed services, is seeking a Senior Manager of Digital Communications to join our Marketing and Communications team at our HQ office in Schaumburg, IL, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, the Senior Manager of Digital Communications will develop & execute strategies that advance AVMA’s digital communications efforts, enhance brand & member experiences, & produce meaningful insights that positively impact the organization. They will consult with internal partners to understand overall objectives & how they relate to AVMA’s digital platforms, identify strategic challenges & opportunities, & lead the evolution of AVMA’s digital platforms to effectively meet those objectives. They will produce actionable roadmaps that lead to measurable outcomes & meaningful digital experiences in support of AVMA’s identified target audiences. In addition to digital communications strategy & platform management, the Senior Manager will oversee analytics initiatives & provide data & insights to relevant internal stakeholders. The position’s digital portfolio includes AVMA.org, the Association’s staff intranet, analytics tools, reports, dashboards, surveys & other digital mediums. As a leader on the Marketing & Communications team, the Senior Manager will oversee, manage & mentor three team members. Up to 5% travel.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be highly collaborative and passionate about AVMA’s mission. Additional qualifications include:
- BS/BA Degree in marketing, communications, computer technology, cognitive science or related fields required with a minimum of 5-7 years of digital communications experience with 2+ years of management experience, association experience a plus
- Demonstrated experience with driving innovation & creativity in a market
- Must have proven experience with website management & redesign projects; Word Press, HTML and CSS; as well as Google Analytics, preferably Google Analytics 4
- Experience with Google Data Studio & Google Tag Manager is preferred
- Experience with data analytics, surveying tools, association management systems, SPSS & Qualtrics a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of user experience, content strategy, design & usability principles
- Experience with search engine optimization, search engine marketing, databases, social media &/or digital advertising campaigns
- Proven experience of digital assets, digital campaigns & digital experiences
- Demonstrated team leadership capability & ability to mentor & coach staff, motivate people, instill accountability & achieve results
- Ability to work well in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple stakeholders, team members & leadership initiatives
- Experience working collaboratively with IT departments in translating strategic business requirements; comfortable building relationships with leaders & colleagues across the organization & driving integrated execution with them
- Strong project management skills with successful teambuilding & partnering skills for cross-group collaboration
- Strategic mindset and independent thinker with sharp analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Must demonstrate AVMA’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in execution of duties
